Why are we starting a ministry in Pennsylvania that is not about youth, but a church?
Neos Oinos Ministries vs New Wine Church Neos Oinos Ministries, Inc. (NOM): This is the umbrella organization that spearheads the ultimate goal of working with youth to “Creating a New Foundation for the Future.”
NOM will create six facilities across the USA. The locations of these facilities have been selected such that the youth can reach one of them within 4-8 hours. The locations will be near: Troy, NY; Ashville, NC; Waukesha, WI; Moore, OK; Prescott, AZ; Butte, MT; plus we may need a facility in Nebraska. The first facility to be built will be in Ashville, NC because of it’s climate and cost of construction. Each facility will be created from the same design. Each facility will have its own adult pastor/leader. The pastor/leader will serve as coordinator, director and councilor. The facilities will have multiple purposes. The primary function will be a retreat center for young adults (high school seniors and college students) that will provide mentoring on how to be good, moral, ethical leaders for their future careers.
Second, it will be a local youth church. The youth church will be run by the youth with the pastor/leader and local mentors overseeing their methods/practices/procedures. The youth will handle the facility care, the running of the Sunday services (except the message), the music, the offerings and the accounting. Each youth will be trained in every facet of the church operation. Lastly, the facility will serve the community. The facility will be available during the week for dinners, games, trainings, etc. The facility with the pastor/leader will provide training and help for troubled youth and a safe haven for youth that are in danger. All activities will have to comply with for fundamental theme of “Creating a New Foundation for the Future.”
New Wine Church will be a full functioning church. New Wine Church will be the overseeing church for all of Neos Oinos Ministries. From New Wine Church the message of Neos Oinos Ministries will be spread. Mailings, calls, surveys, studies, plans and more will be coordinated through New Wine Church for Neos Oinos Ministries. New Wine Church is the heart and head for the arms and legs of Neos Oinos Ministries Youth Churches across America.
What type of Activities will NOM provide?
Each activity will begin with a theme and a challenge then engage in an activity. The activities will vary for independent, to group, to team, to leadership, to submissive. The activities will be fun, exciting, challenging and more. They could include sports like baseball, basketball, soccer, or volleyball. Ever done speed volleyball? They may include making up a board game about politics or business growth. They could involve high ropes, low ropes, zip line, the spider web or a rock wall.
